General Practice Residency
(from VA Hospital):

A one year rotating internship within a hospital setting where general dentists get additional training under the direct supervision of dental specialists.

Certificate in Prosthodontics,
(Baylor):

This is the Certificate awarded after the successful completion of a full time residency which presently consists of three years of post-graduate training.
 

American College of Prosthodontics
“Board Certification”

After successful completion of the formal residency program, the Prosthodontic specialist becomes eligible to challenge the Board. Certification means that the specialist has demonstrated to his peers his competence and knowledge of the specialty by passing the Board examination.

“Fellowship”:

Beyond mere membership in an organization, a "Fellowship" status is recognition of the highest level of achievement within that organization. It usually requires a rigorous examination along with demonstration of substantial clinical experience and commitment to the specialty.

American Board of Oral Implantology
"Diplomate” certificate:

This is issued when the candidate has passed a thorough examination process demonstrating to The American Board of Oral Implantology a high degree of knowledge and skill in Oral Implantology.

 

American Academy of Oral Implantology "Fellow" certificate:

Beyond mere membership in an organization, a "Fellowship" status is recognition of the highest level of achievement within that organization.  It usually requires a rigorous examination along with demonstration of substantial clinical experience and commitment to the specialty.
